Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani / Hyderabad / Goa
Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (shortened BITS Pilani or BITS) is a private institute of higher education and a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The institute is one among the 6 Indian 'Institutes of Eminence' recognized by the Government of India in 2018. It is established across 4 campuses and has 15 academic departments. It focuses primarily on higher education in engineering and sciences and on its management programme.
The institute was established in its present form in 1964. During this period, the institute's transformation from a regional engineering college to a national university was backed by G.D. Birla. BITS, since then, has expanded to campuses at Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.
BITS conducts the All-India computerized entrance examination, BITSAT (BITS Admission Test). Admission is merit-based, as assessed by the BITSAT examination. The fully residential institute is privately supported.
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra) is an Indian institute of higher education and a deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. It was established in the year 1955 at Mesra, Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand, India by the philanthropist and industrialist Late Shri. B. M. Birla. The institute was later headed by Late Shri G.P Birla and the present chairman of the board of governors is Shri C.K Birla.
The main campus at Mesra is a wholly residential campus. Following the establishment of the main campus in Mesra, extension centres have been established in several regions of India including Jaipur, Noida, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, Deoghar, and University Polytechnic (Ranchi) as well as offshore centres in Ras al-Khaimah, UAE and Muscat, Oman.
Every year students are admitted strictly based on Merit assessed by All India Rank (AIR) in JEE-Main-CSAB, GATE and AIPMT for its various courses.
Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), formerly Vellore Engineering College is a private deemed university institute located in the outskirts of Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1984, as Vellore Engineering College, by G. Viswanathan, the institution offers 20 undergraduate, 34 postgraduate, four integrated and four research programs. It has campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amravati Andhra Pradesh.
PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore
PSG Industrial institute was established in 1926 by PSG and Sons Charities in Peelamedu, Coimbatore. The engineering college was started in the institute campus in 1951 by G. R. Damodaran, who became its first principal. The college was conferred autonomous status by University of Madras in 1978, which was continued by the Bharathiar University and subsequently by Anna University since 2001.
Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal
The Manipal Institute of Technology (shortened MIT Manipal or MIT) is a constituent institution of Manipal Academy of Higher Education that specializes in the fields of engineering and technology. MIT contains 16 academic departments and awards undergraduate, graduate and post graduate degrees. Established in 1957 in Manipal, Karnataka, India, it is one of the first self-financed colleges in India. It has been consistently ranked as one of the top colleges in India for engineering education.
Until the early nineties, the institution was affiliated to Karnatak University, University of Mysore, and then to Mangalore University. After the establishment of Manipal Academy of Higher Education/Manipal University in 1993, MIT became a constituent institution of Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET), is a private self-financing Engineering college located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The institute was founded in 2001 by Jaypee Group and commenced its operation in the start of academic year in July 2001. Initially it was affiliated to the state university Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat and started offering only diploma courses. By 1 November 2004, it was declared as Deemed University by UGC.
Jaypee Institute of Information Technology is located in Uttar Pradesh.JIIT, Noida is located in the corporate and housing hub at Sector-128, Noida. It commenced operations from the start of academic session in August 2009. The sector-128 campus is an extension to the main campus
SASTRA University, Thanjavur
SASTRA Deemed University started in 1984 in the form of Shanmugha College of Engineering, affiliated to the Bharathidasan University, Trichy. In 2001 it was renamed as Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy. It was the first institution to get the 'Deemed University status' in Tamil Nadu. Srinivasa Ramanujan Center at Kumbakonam is attached to it.
In 2011, software company Tata Consultancy Services set a world record of recruiting 1,755 students from SASTRA, the largest recruitment by any company in the world from a single campus.
